FREE DIGITAL MIXTAPE WITH ANY FULL ALBUM DOWNLOAD! |
| |
Last month we started our Give More. Get More campaign; offering customers a monthly sampler, hand-selected by us with every single digital album order as a free MP3 download at checkout. In essence, you get two albums' worth of music for the price of one, when you buy an MP3 album from Insound. That’s' just how much we like you, the Insound customers. Hopefully you got a chance to check out last month's mix, and we think you're going to love this month's as well. With tracks from Ponytail, Tilly and the Wall, King Khan and the Shrines, an exclusive non-album track from Booka Shade and more; what have you got to lose?! Download any full length album from our downloads section and it's yours… FREE!
On the other hand, if you're in the mood for mail-order, don't sweat it; Insound's got just the stuff to keep your mailbox full and your ears happy. Lots of new releases this week like the first full length from the much talked about Fleet Foxes, the equally (maybe more so) talked about debut from Chicago's The Cool Kids or the brand new album from the color coded men of Weezer. Hey don't limit yourself to this week's releases though, keep your mailbox stuffed in the future with a pre-order of Hercules & Love Affair
(with a bonus poster) or be the first on your block to reserve your copy of Sigur Ros' highly anticipated new album Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust.

Every time you buy an MP3 album from Insound (not EPs or singles), Insound will donate $.25 of our take to a touring band. We choose 6 lucky bands that we like, but you get to select the actual artist to earmark your quarter to. Furthermore, should you wish to "tip" additional funds to these great artists, you can add your own tip during checkout. 100% of these funds will go to the band you choose. If you do not choose a specific band, we will distribute the funds equally to all of the bands. We will add new bands 2-4 times each year. All funds are to be used by bands to support the next national tour. In short, their tours will be made possible by you – Insound customers! More info HERE

Insound is obsessed with the process of music discovery. We love helping music fans learn about, listen to and (hopefully) buy something new.
Starting now, we will make that process much easier. With every single digital album order (again, not EPs or singles...sorry), we will offer our customers a monthly sampler, hand-selected by us as a free MP3 download at checkout. In essence, you get two albums' worth of music for the price of one, when you buy an MP3 album from Insound. We will create a new mixtape each month so you can discover the newest and the bestest all over again. More info HERE

ED HARCOURT
'The Beautiful Lie' (Dovecote Records)
| Maybe it's the weight of experience Ed's had, or the years he's spent crafting songs finally coming together to create something incredibly special. His new album is confident, expressive and moving, wide-eyed, big-hearted and hot-blooded, with a musical ambition that dazzles you. It's an album he's grown up with, and an album that wants you to grow with it.

FLEET FOXES
'Fleet Foxes' (Sub Pop)
| One of the “buzziest” bands out there, Seattle's Fleet Foxes make beautifully baroque pop that has the kids going crazy. They’re influences range from folk, pop and choral to gospel and Japan. For fans of My Morning Jacket and The Band. On Sub Pop!

| |
LADYTRON
'Velocifero' (Nettwerk)
| Ladytron’s new album transcends the confines of electro-pop with a fresh wave of distorted soul, and becomes an onslaught of programmed hi-hats and jagged guitars. Rhythmically reminiscent of Os Mutantes and the Birthday Party.
| |
OPPENHEIMER
'Take the Whole Midrange and Boost It ' (Bar/None)
| Belfast’s Oppenheimer love kraut rock, synthesizers and good old pop. The dynamic duo of Rocky O'Reilly and Shaun Robinson make optimistic music influenced by Brian Eno, Kraftwerk, and My Bloody Valentine with the spirited harmonies of Brian Wilson.
| |
PAPER RIVAL
'Dialog' (Photo Finish Records)
| Nashville’s Paper Rival refine their warm indie-pop sound into something richer. Now they’re incorporating the upright bass, the piano and fiddle into their bouncy guitar-driven choruses. Minus the Bear meets Neutral Milk Hotel?
| |
RADIOHEAD
'The Best of (Deluxe) ' (EMI)
| Casual Radiohead fans will have the chance for an introductory release to the band's vast catalog and more serious collectors will enjoy some of the rarities on Disc 2 of this expanded edition. A best of collection rounding up the genius of Radiohead's output from their 6 studio albums.

SHEARWATER
'Rook' (Matador)
| Shearwater’s latest for Matador Records is pastoral prog-folk with hints of Talk Talk, Nico, and John Cale and Van Morrison. This album is a dark fairy tale encased in a cycle of songs featuring lush sonic gorgeousness with harp, strings, and woodwinds.

SUBTLE
'Exiting Arm' (Lex)
| Exiting Arm is the third full-length release from Bay Area sextet Subtle. It represents an exciting new chapter in the adventurous pop group's career. Over the course of two LP's, four EP's and collaborations with the likes of Beck, Wolf Parade, Tunde Adembimpe of TV on the Radio, Soft Pink Truth, The Nowist, Ms. John Soda, Hood and more along the way; Subtle's music has taken the group across the globe. Whether it finds itself in the studio or in the live sitting, the group's malleability has given them the ability to nurture its strengths as musicians and develop into an unstoppable musical force.

THE COOL KIDS
'The Bake Sale ' (Chocolate Industries)
| These two young Chicagoans met a most modern way; MySpace. They swapped tracks and the rest is recent history. Their insanely fun debut finds inspiration in hip-hop circa 1988 when things just seemed simpler. The Cool Kids are a breath of fresh air.

| |
WEEZER
'Weezer (Red Album) ' (DGC)
| We’ve never heard of this band but we have a feeling they’re going to be pretty huge one day. You loved “The Blue Album” and you probably liked “The Green Album.” Now get ready for Weezer’s “The Red Album.” One guy has a mustache. Haha!

JUNE 24TH RELEASE DATE Pre-orders will receive a bonus reflective print poster (as supplies last). Hercules & Love Affair is 2008's most exciting dancefloor concoction, an arthouse version of pure pop by way of futuristic electronica and classic dance music, where beautiful, bruising harmonies and tensile rhythms collide in resurgent soundscapes and emotive disco workouts. |

JULY 22ND RELEASE DATE. A collection of tracks previously available on 7-inch vinyl and compilations. This is the first time these songs are all available on CD. High Places songs contain a range of aural layers: bells and bird calls over a wash of ocean waves; mallets hitting mixing bowls over treated guitar and glockenspiel; reflective vocals over inventive and infectious beats. |

JULY 8TH RELEASE DATE. Their third studio album, following 2006's "Classics". The characteristic guitar style is still present here, but there are an abundance of new textures, from Wurlitzer and mellotron to live rather than programmed percussion.

JUNE 24TH RELEASE DATE. Inspired by the unfettered feeling of the acoustic performances filmed during Heima, Sigur Rós adopted a looser approach in creating their fifth album. The album consequently is fresher and more human than anything they've previously recorded. Rough edges, cracked notes, and the sound of fingers on strings are audible resulting in tracks that prove to be the band's sparsest and most affecting work to date. |
