The music of Brooklyn's Yeasayer is an eclectic, genre-bending journey into pop, rock, Middle Eastern and African musics, folk, and dub. Vocalist/keyboardist Chris Keating and vocalist/guitarist Anand Wilder were both raised in Baltimore, where they honed their vocal skills in a barbershop quartet and played in a high-school band, Sic Transit, before leaving town to attend different colleges. VINYL FORMAT. Yeasayer wrote and layered songs for their upcoming release, Odd Blood, during the white winter months of Feb-Apr '09 in upstate NY. Out of these sessions came "Ambling Alp," which is the first single for . A stand out from their recent live set, the band reworked the song into its former incarnation: a pop anthem. This 12" single contains remixes by friends Memory Tapes and DJ/rupture and is Yeasayer's first release on US label Secretly Canadian.
