Looper was the electronic-inspired side project of Belle and Sebastian bassist Stuart David; after debuting in mid-1998 with the Sub Pop single "Impossible Things," the full-length Up a Tree followed in March of 1999. Upon completing work on Belle and Sebastian's Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant album, David left the group to focus on Looper full time, touring with the Flaming Lips prior to releasing The Geometrid in the spring of 2000. Snare followed in June 2002. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide[more]

Looper's highly anticipated third album, The Snare, is another truly original work with a unique sound that combines the feel of mysterious film soundtracks with contemporary R&B and hip-hop style beats, much darker in tone than previous releases. Looper is the project of former Belle & Sebastian member Stuart David. The Snare is based around Stuart David's recent book, The Peacock Manifesto.

Looper is the brainchild of Stuart David, hitherto known more for his bass playing in Belle & Sebastian than for his own music, writing, artwork and other creative outbursts. Visual artist and wife Karn David, along with photographer and brother Ronnie Black, make up the other portion of Looper, creatinga live performance filled with Stuart's sounds and stories and Karn and Ronnie's visual effects.
