Angular jazz-jizzmo from Indiana's finest frolickers. Vocals squeak and stammer nonsensical lyrics, guitars careen between unfixed points, while the rhythm section prowls territories usually reserved for lurching locomotives (which is not always a pretty sight -- or sound). Odd time signatures abound, as songs are fractured into slivers of 'Chairs Missing' era WIRE, the static stutter stop of US MAPLE, and the lyrical throwback of classic GANG Of FOUR, impacted with subliminal glitches.

Following a stint of singles on the excellent Bearos label in the UK, Epic 45 now have blessed us with a full length! The influences here range from the mellow ambience of bands such as Bark Psychosis & Labradford to the sonic experimentation of GYBE, Slint, and Hood, but blended together nicely into a sound all their own. Lots of Radio One airplay from Steve Lamacq and John Peel. Very very pretty and dreamy, without being horribly dull vacuum cleaner music.

Recorded live at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney Australia on May 31st, 1980 Engineers is an amazingly pristine snapshot of the rapidly evolving Mr. Numan. Made up mostly of material from Replicas and The Pleasure Principal, Engineers fills a hole that Gary Numan collectors didn't even know was there. But they better act fast as we've only a very limited amount, and there won't be anymore once they're gone.
