Warm Songs for Cold Shoulders is the kind of record we hoped Cameron McGill would make for his Parasol debut; the songs are stripped down and the stories laid bare. Most of the album's songs were learned in the studio, and cut shortly thereafter. The songs show a similar vulnerability evident in many of McGill's recordings, though here he returns to the thoughtful folk musings he has made his signature.
