Even by famously fickle British pop standards, Kula Shaker's reign on top was brief. Famously over-hyped (usually by its own lead singer, Crispian Mills) and shamelessly derivative, the band's devotion to Indian textures and swirling 1960s psychedelia pegged them for charming-footnote status almost immediately.
