Despite what the packaging may lead you to believe, Greatest Hits, Finest Performances, like the Intersound collection In the Jailhouse Now, consists of '70s re-recordings of Pierce's '50s and '60s hits, and there is some overlap between the two discs. Pierce is in fine voice throughout, and the instrumentation is tasteful and mostly true to the originals, the only update being the occasional inclusion of a drum kit.
