Here's To Shutting Up (CD)
The quartet's eighth studio recording, recorded with Brian Paulson at Zero Return Studios in Atlanta. It's a continuation of Superchunk's progressive journey from post-adolescent punk rock toward a more mature and resonant creative palate. But don't worry, rockers, they can still rock out with the best of them; a mature and confident record, documenting a band at the peak of their creative powers.

| I'm not one to add the description "best album of the year" to any review, but Here's To Shutting Up has become one of my favorite releases of 2001. Its certainly a matured effort, but Superchunk has grown without forgetting their roots. The songwriting is as wonderfully crafted as the album's production. Three cheers for Superchunk, getting better with age. | |
