VINYL FORMAT. Los Angeles-based NEON KING KONG is the newest vehicle for former LE SHOK vocalist Hot Rod Todd. Following the somewhat anticlimactic breakup of LE SHOK in mid-2001, Todd quickly got busy teaming-up with newly-transplanted Buddy and Mike, both former members of TEENAGE HEARTHROBS and LESBIAN MAKERS (as well as their recent addition - former THE COUNT drummer, Jeremy). Within a few short months the band were hitting the road for weekend trips with noteworthy (and massively-popular) bands like THE STITCHES and BRATMOBILE - to overwhelmingly positive responses. Audiences genuinely surprised by NEON KING KONG's musicianship, however, are still just as likely to get a dose of monkey-business, Hot Rod style. The equipment is more often played than wielded, though. Former LE SHOK keyboardist Darryl Licht makes a guest appearance on the A-side of this single, making it even more "familiar" in nature to the average LE SHOK connoisseur - but "tighter". It's true. The sleeve, meanwhile, features some first-rate design by former LE SHOK guitarist Asshole Andrew, and the vinyl matches.
