Slow Riot for a New Zero Kanada (CD)
Highly recommended. Two new pieces capture the band in all their mesmerizing, drawn-out glory. Both songs are long intricate compositions that rise and fall with the full dynamics and interplay that characterize Godspeed's live performances.

| Well, I've had this cd for quite a while yet, I'm ashamed to say, it only recently became one of my favorients. I've always enjoyed Godspeed's two full lengths, but this one just wasn't the same. Sure the street preacher on the second track is amusing, as well as the cd's packaging, but I found it dull, gone were the 5 diffrent songs in 1 track and all the interesting noises in the background. Yet that is what makes this cd so good. The way the first song builds up and the way BBFIII's rantings underscore the second track. The songs are fully devoloped and much more melodic than anything else Godspeed has put out. This is defantly there best work so give it a chance, you won't regret it. | |

| You set the needle down and you realise the future is yours. the aural equivalent of a new world order collapsing, from start to finish it sounds as if the city has crashed in on itself, the rubble beautiful in its own unique way, the ruins a metaphor for hope and beauty. then the record ends. Such an amazing effort it makes you realise how small you really are, it's so haunting and beautiful. The design is also very well conceived, foil stamped jacket with an insert that recalls the overpowering sense of frustration you feel over the sheer banality of existence. it reminds us that there is hope. | |

| A little rougher sounding than their previous release, without some of the studio trickery and whatnot. But that's not a bad thing. It reveals the real, raw nature of their music, which is just as beautiful. Although it's only 2 tracks, the EP is quite lengthy, giving GYBE! time to develop their music. GYBE!'s music may be a bit limited, since they're always dwelling on the same apocalyptic chamber music, but they do it so well that you probably won't care. | |

| Two songs differentiated only by seperate track numbers. The first is a beautiful instrumental epic building and building to a climax any MOGWAI fan would appreciate. Track two I equate with the receding pattern of a gigantic tidal wave (aka track one). The wave has already hit, now we're wading through its foamy grasp. This record is excellent and to anybody who has purchased and disliked their full lenth release: this record is much easier to listen to. More music than ambient sounds i.e., more of what you want from GYBE. | |

| i've listened to this record about ten times, and I can't figure out what it's trying to do to me or who's doing it. It's simple really, but it has some subliminal agenda. If you want to feel instantly like you are stumbling around inside a movie, buy this record. Even though it is way expensive. | |
