This Night (CD)
You'll hear that Destroyer sounds like David Bowie, or Brian Eno, and that's certainely good company, and maybe it'll make you want to go buy the record. It's good to have a comfortable and familiar reference, but it shouldn't be the focus of a critique, and Destroyer deserves to be heard with a fresh perspective and open mind. This is folk-tinged pop-rock of the highest order, marked by main man Daniel Bejar's (New Pornographers) cryptic, observational lyrics and genius arrangements.
