Tweez (CD)
Tweez is a fine, if bizarre recording, often switching from bass-led rhythm to rhythm in the same song. The guitars are harsh, but not especially fast. Instead of singing, bits of dialogue, sound effects, and spoken lyrics are used. Recommended.

| Not as good as Spiderland cheese, so don't get your hopes up . . .
On the other hand, the best song here, "Carol", is as good, or possibly better than, anything on Spiderland. The place "PAST WHERE THEY PAINT THE HOUSES!" has a significance well beyond the surface meaning, it seems. You'll see. Other tracks seem a little light-hearted to anyone familiar with the harrowing intensity of (their second effort) Spiderland, although "Warren" certainly rocks and "Nan Ding" is memorable at the very least. This is a record about parents, with one song about a dog. Sure, buy Tweez, absolutely, it's good, but only if you've already got the second one.
