To The 5 Boroughs (CD)
After a six-year hiatus, the Beastie Boys finally return with "To the 5 Boroughs" -- their first album since 1998's "Hello Nasty." MCA, AdRock, and Mike D spent the past two years working on the album, and it's the first produced entirely by the boys themselves. "To the 5 Boroughs" is a salute to New York, full of old-school hip-hop beats and political anger. From the block-party rockers "Ch-Check It Out" and "Triple Trouble," to the politically charged "Time To Build," and straight-up tribute "An Open Letter To NYC," the record conjures the early '80s New York underground that the B Boys came up in.
