According to Karl Blau, the world needs a little more Bret Lunsford, guitarist for Beat Happening and member of the band D+. So on his latest release, Blau takes the words to D+ songs and runs them through dance beats and echo machines, metamorphosing the style to give Lunsford's words new positions. And though the lyrics are the same, Blau often embellishes the vocal melodies, sometimes completely changing them. Dance Positive is light-hearted and sometimes silly, but always keeps Lunsford's thoughtfulness in mind, and is designed to inspire movement.
