VINYL FORMAT. The second EP from Oakland, CA's Subpoena the Past is totally unlike the first. Whereas the band (previously a studio-only duo) utilized mainly drum programs and keyboards the first time around, "Conjure Itch" marks a rekindled interest in bass-driven post-punk rock, replete with live drums and layered guitars. Initially a "project" group between S. Kay (VSS, ANGEL HAIR) and J. Karam (LE SHOK, THE LOCUST), Subpoena the Past gradually evolved into a full-time trio with Kay, drummer P. Lyman (previously of Colorado's JUHL), and guitarist J. Myers (ex-ANGEL ASSASSINS bass player). "Conjure Itch" is a one-sided 33RPM 12"; the flipside features an elaborate photo-etch illustration by Julian Meyers which relates to elements of the jacket artwork.
