VINYL FORMAT. A one off DMM (Direct to Metal Mastering) reissue of Sigur Ros debut album and first time on vinyl.

This release is a limited release, pressed on 200 gram vinyl with a special purple plastic wallet.

Von (translates as hope) is Sigur Ros', Iceland's most widely acclaimed band. Jon Por (Jonsi) Birgisson (guitar and vocals), Georg Hólm (bass) and Agust Aevar Gunnarsson (drums) formed the group in Reykjavik in August 1994.

Their name is taken from Jonsi's younger sister Sigurros (which when translated into English means "Victory Rose"), who was born the same day as the band was formed. They soon won a record deal with the local Sugarcubes-owned record label, Smekkleysa SM (Bad Taste ltd.) In 1997, Von was released.

In 1998 a remix collection named Von brigoi. The name is Icelandic wordplay: Vonbrigoi means "disappointment", but Von brigoi means "variations on Von".
