The New York duo that is I am the World Trade Center walks an interesting line. Recording entirely on a single laptop computer they bring organic sounds in to a digital world resulting in a final product that is both timeless and ultramodern. Samples and loops from records long lost are married with Amy Dykes elegant vocals, organic instrumentation and computer generated voices to produce a unique and instantly inciting sound. Influences ranging from St. Etienne and The Stone Roses to Martin Denny and Nancy Sinatra then back to Fat Boy Slim and Cornershop add even more to the new sound I am the World Trade Center has created; sometimes cheeky, sometimes heart wrenchingly honest, but always fun and danceable.
