Hey Bob My Friend!! (CD)
The Japanese equivalent to DEVO, right down to the yellow jumpsuits. Asian Man Records have been trying for the last two years to get this amazing band released in the U.S. After constant nagging from label president Mike Park, Asian Man is proud to announce the release of Polysics debut album, "Hey Bob, My Friend!!" Asian Man doesn't really know what the title means, but there's no arguing with the amazing music they produce. Their electronic wizardry, combined with raw sounding guitars, gives Polysics an unexplainable sound. Here's Asian Man's best attempt: A less poppy Devo, mixed in with the aggressive sounds of The Boredoms, trickle in the energy of the Dead Kennedys, and topped off with the moods of Man or Astroman. This release will blow the socks off the U.S. rock scene.

| The Polysics are a hectic blend of fast and loud punk meets Casio-core, e.g. Melt-Banana joins Devo; One of the most original and fun albums to come out in years. Underground even in their native Japan, they produce an eclectic tongue-in-cheek rock cornucopia of loud guitars, driving beats, and New Wave keys. Brilliant with a capital "B" and followed by a lowercase "rilliant." | |

| I enjoy the POLYSICS a lot, including this one which is basically a compilation album as well. This compilation features tracks from both their first and second album releases. It's not a bad choice since only two songs from both albums were omitted from this compilation, but I actually liked one of the tracks they left out. "T-riangle" is a brilliant song, why did they leave this one out? That's not the reason why I didn't give this album an A+, I unfortunately don't like most of the tracks off of A.D.S.R.M. simply. | |
