This MIGHT just be my favorite Insound purchase ever. As a person who is trying to curb their use of superfluous superlatives, that means something. Right off the bat, you might ask yourself – why does a CD+DVD cost $70.99? Well, this isn't just any CD+DVD. The CD is a data CD packed with 143 mp3s and the DVD contains the same tracks as aiffs (but who has room for aiffs?). And these 143 tracks are basically a hip-hop nerd's seven hours of personal bliss – each track has been sampled by one or more classic rap jams.
If you were ever like – "Where did Tony Starks get the idea for 'Cherchez La Ghost?'" or "I bet the song Wu-Tang sampled for 'C.R.E.A.M.' is sick!" or "Wait – it sounds like this MF Doom song is sampling Steely Dan!" – then you will love delving deep into these tasty, tasty breaks. The packaging is pretty janky, but seriously, when you have this many jams packed inside just waiting to get out, WHO CARES?!
